GOLDLAB FOUNDATION – WEBSITE AND LOGO DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

The GoldLab Foundation web design and development project was a significant undertaking.

The Gold Lab, which focuses on the utilization of biological and information technology to improve healthcare, was founded in 1971 by Dr. Larry Gold. In 2010, they introduced an annual symposium to bring together critical thinkers in bioscience, medicine, public policy, and humanities to discuss complexities and barriers for improving health care in a straightforward, understandable, and approachable way.

The goal of leveraging a brand new web design to promote Gold Lab, the GoldLab Symposium, and the GoldLab Foundation was complex. The information architecture required in supporting 100+ presenters, each categorically linked to various post types for presentations, publications, reviews, and symposiums involved substantial use and customization of Advanced Custom Fields and WooCommerce. All said and done, the site contains upwards 500 pages, posts, profiles, and products, and an enormous effort went into modifying the wordpress dashboard to intuitively relate all of these various data fields so the GoldLab team would be able to scale the site effectively and efficiently as the foundations continues to grow.
